How to Apply for Admission
The admissions process at the Institute of Culinary Education is
the starting point of a long-term relationship between our school
and the student. Our Assistant Directors of Admissions will work
individually with incoming culinary students to ensure they
understand all aspects of the educational experience.
Before you complete the admissions process, we strongly
suggest you sit in on a class for one day. Whether it’s a cooking
class, or a culinary management class the experience will give
you the opportunity to see our school from a student's
perspective. You’ll meet our students and Chef-Instructors and to
form a realistic impression of our culinary school curriculum.
Steps to apply for admission:
- Contact the ICE Admissions Department online at iceculinary.com/INFO or by phone at (888) 997-CHEF to get started.
- Visit the school for a personal tour and information session that will detail your education - with your career goals always in mind.
- Fill out an application to your desired program and select the schedule most convenient for you. Click here to download a pdf of the application.
- If you need financial aid, be sure to ask your Admissions Representative to make an appointment with the ICE Office of Financial Aid to explore and fully understand all the financing options that are available to you. You may also reach out to the ICE Office of Financial Aid directly at (212) 847-0765 or at
FinancialAid@iceculinary.com
- When you have completed both the Admissions and Finance processes, your Admissions Representative will enroll you at ICE. This will include signing your Enrollment Agreement, securing a deposit (if applicable), getting fitted for your chefs coat; and picking up your knives, books, and professional tool kit.
To qualify, prospective students must have a minimum of an official High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) in order to start a program. (High School seniors can receive a preliminary Letter of Acceptance based on expected graduation, but must have High School Diploma in hand before matriculation.) Also, a student may provide an official Bachelor's Transcript or higher from nationally accredited institution.
