A good hotel school is designed to teach the ins and outs of the hospitality industry, both in and out of the classroom. From providing an overview of the travel and tourism industry to offering instruction in accounting, finance, and operations, the Hospitality Management program at The Institute of Culinary Education in New York City will give you the skills and knowledge to become anything from a general manager to concierge to director of housekeeping to a hotel kitchen manager to food and beverage manager.

Located in the heart of Manhattan, the award-winning Institute of Culinary Education is uniquely suited to offer a comprehensive hotel school with all the flavors of the Big Apple. The comprehensive education takes just 10-13 months and combines lectures, hands-on instruction, field work and project-based learning for an experience unlike any other. Students start with classroom instruction before moving on to externships with some of the industry's most reputable companies. Not only will you earn a hospitality diploma, but you'll learn skills that put you on the fast track to a hospitality management career.

The unique Hospitality diploma program at the Institute of Culinary Education begins with 428 hours of classroom training, laying the foundation for hands-on exploration. Industry experts and guest lecturers offer first-hand insight into New York's bustling tourism and hospitality industries, while instructors provide in-depth instruction that includes lectures and field trips.

ICE offers hospitality coursework in finances, marketing, hotel management, and more. The multifaceted accounting and finance unit explores hospitality as a numbers game, teaching practical skills like setting menu prices and managing payroll, while the operations course covers both front and back office hotel management responsibilities, including reservations and security. In the food service program, students learn menu design, restaurant public relations, event management and conference planning and also develop skills to manage housekeeping services, sales and marketing teams, and human resources.

Technological advances are particularly important in shaping trends and practices in hospitality and tourism, and the ICE Hospitality program keeps you on top of the latest software and management systems. You'll receive extensive training on the Micros OPERA System and other emerging tools and cutting-edge programs.

After you've completed the classroom studies, you'll put your knowledge to the test during a 210 hour externship at a resort, hotel or other hospitality enterprise. An invaluable step in your hospitality education, you'll encounter real-world challenges and gain real-life experience that further prepares you for your hospitality career.

From cruise ships to airplanes, resort hotels to world-class kitchens, a career in hospitality can take you farther than you ever imagined – and a hospitality diploma from the ICE will help you get there.

The curriculum at ICE is focused, creative and relevant to real world practice. Graduates will be well prepared for the first day on the job of an entry-level management position within the hospitality industry.
